whisper.cpp and ggml
Captions are made by whisper.cpp and its ggml library (https://github.com/ggml-org/whisper.cpp), compiled into Focal. Both are under the MIT license:

Geist and Geist Mono
Focal's windows are set in the Geist typeface by Vercel (https://github.com/vercel/geist-font), and the keystroke overlay carries Geist and Geist Mono so its pills look the same on every computer. The fonts are under the SIL Open Font License, Version 1.1, which asks that the license travel with the fonts. The notice for each follows in full.

Whisper speech models
Captions use OpenAI's Whisper models, converted to the ggml format by the whisper.cpp project and published at https://huggingface.co/ggerganov/whisper.cpp, which states the MIT license for them. Focal does not ship a model. The first time captions are made it downloads one from that repository (ggml-small.en-q5_1.bin for English, ggml-small-q5_1.bin for other languages, about 190 MB each) and keeps it in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Focal\models.
Rust crates
The crates compiled into Focal.exe, with the license each declares on crates.io; the license texts are in each crate's package. Crates that run only while Focal is built (procedural macros, build scripts and their dependencies) are left out. Every crate is used unmodified except whisper-rs-sys, which is carried in Focal's repository with the changes described in third_party/whisper-rs-sys/FOCAL.md. The crates under the Mozilla Public License 2.0 (cssparser, dtoa-short, option-ext and selectors) are unmodified; their source is on crates.io. The Rust standard library is under MIT OR Apache-2.0.

Installer and runtime
The installer is made with NSIS (https://nsis.sourceforge.io, zlib/libpng license) and Tauri's NSIS plugins (MIT OR Apache-2.0). Focal's windows run in Microsoft Edge WebView2, which Windows provides; where it is missing, the installer downloads it from Microsoft under Microsoft's terms.
